counseling FAQ
What can I expect in the first session?
Your 1st session is about getting to know you- your goals, your story, & what you hope to get out of counseling. We’ll talk through history, current concerns, and start building a foundation for our work together. You don’t need to have all the answers; just show up as you are.
How long are sessions, and how often will we meet?
Sessions are typically 53 minutes. Most clients start with weekly sessions, but we’ll work together to figure out the right rhythm based on your needs and availability.
Do you take insurance?
I accept some insurance plans, and private pay is also available. If you’re out-of-network, I can provide a superbill for potential reimbursement. We’ll go over all the details before your first appointment so there are no surprises.
Is what I share in therapy confidential?
Yes—confidentiality is a core part of counseling. There are a few legal exceptions (like safety concerns or abuse disclosures), which I’ll walk you through clearly during intake.
rsrt faq
What is “rsrt”?
RSRT stands for “Relationship Safety and Resilience Training.” It’s a skills group, not counseling. It’s an 8-week group where we teach practical safety and resilience skills for real-life situations- friend drama, online pressure, sketchy adults, and everything in between. We keep it honest, interactive, and judgment-free.
